Who this policy covers
This policy describes poople.wiki, maintained by the Poople Wiki site editor. It does not cover the original Poople game or other websites linked from our pages. For questions about our handling of information, email hello@poople.wiki.
The site does not provide accounts, subscriptions, payments, public comments or a contact form. The launch version contains no advertising code. We do not sell personal information or use your solver entries for advertising.
Solver input and browser storage
The word ladder solver downloads its dictionary and calculates routes locally in your browser. It does not upload the word you enter or the route it calculates. Inputs and results are not automatically saved by this site and are not added to the page URL.
If you choose to copy a result, the browser may place that text on your device's clipboard. You control where you paste it; the site does not send it to us. Your browser or device may separately offer history or clipboard features governed by its own settings.
We use browser storage to remember your analytics choice. The choice lasts for up to 180 days, after which we ask again. This preference supports the consent controls; it is not a saved puzzle history. You can remove local site data through your browser settings. If storage is unavailable or cleared, the preference may need to be chosen again.
Optional Google Analytics
When analytics is configured for this site and you allow it, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand aggregate page use and whether features work. The analytics script loads only after you choose to allow analytics. Before you choose, or when you decline, this site's analytics implementation does not send analytics requests to Google. The guide, hints and solver remain usable.
When allowed, analytics can receive the page being viewed, limited actions such as running the solver, selecting a sample or copying a result, and technical information provided by your browser. Google may use analytics cookies or identifiers to distinguish visits and derive information such as approximate location or device category. We do not send solver words, generated paths, email content or other free text as analytics event parameters.
Our implementation sends clean page addresses without query strings or fragments. We do not enable advertising personalization or add advertising tags. Google processes analytics data under its own terms and privacy practices; see Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites using its services.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open Privacy choices in the footer to allow or decline analytics. You can change your decision later, including withdrawing an earlier permission. The implementation stops future analytics collection after withdrawal and clears analytics cookies it can access for this site. Withdrawing permission cannot undo information already sent while analytics was allowed.
Changes are shared with other open tabs on this site's origin in the same storage partition when browser storage is available. A different browser, device or browsing profile has its own stored choice. Browser restrictions or privacy extensions may block analytics even after you allow it.
Hosting and email
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. Serving a page requires handling network request information such as an IP address, requested address, time and browser-related headers. Cloudflare may process necessary security and delivery logs under its own policies. This essential hosting activity is separate from optional Google Analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you email us, we receive the address, message and attachments you send, along with normal email metadata. We use that information to respond and investigate the issue. Please include only what is needed and avoid passwords or sensitive personal information. We keep correspondence while it is useful for the request and its follow-up; you may ask about or request deletion of your correspondence.
Requests and changes
Contact us about access, correction or deletion of information you supplied. We may need enough information to identify the relevant correspondence and confirm the request. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location and circumstances; this policy does not remove those rights.
If site features or data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. A new optional tracking purpose will not be treated as covered merely because you once allowed the current analytics. See contact details and terms of use for related information.
