Different word lists can give different answers.

This solver uses 3,919 words from the public-domain ENABLE 2K list. It does not use the official game’s complete dictionary. For example, PEST takes 4 moves here and 5 in the official snapshot we checked. A word in a result may be rejected by the original game. For the daily puzzle, use our source-checked answer.

How to use the Poople solver

  1. Enter your current word. Use four English letters, A–Z. You can start from the day's opening word or a word you reached during play.
  2. Find a route. The solver searches the supported word list and returns one shortest route to POOP if a connection exists.
  3. Read each step. Follow the changed letter and move count. Entering the destination POOP returns zero moves because you are already at the goal.
  4. Check compatibility. Before following a route in the official game, remember that its accepted word list may differ from ours.

Lowercase and uppercase inputs are treated alike, and spaces at the beginning or end are ignored. Spaces inside a word, numbers, punctuation and accented letters are outside this tool's A–Z input format. That is a limit of the solver, not a statement about whether such spellings are words in another language.

What “shortest” means here

The solver treats each supported four-letter word as a point in a network. Two points connect only when their words differ in exactly one position. It searches all routes one move away, then two moves away, and continues in that order. This breadth-first search finds a route with the fewest letter changes in the loaded dictionary.

There may be more than one equally short answer. The tool displays one of them; it does not claim that your other route is wrong. A different dictionary can add or remove a connection and change the minimum number of moves.

For a hand-checkable example, GOOP → POOP requires one change. POOP needs no change. A longer result must still satisfy exactly the same rule at every step; the target is never reached by adding a letter, rearranging a word or skipping a connection.

Our word list and the official game

This tool uses four-letter entries from the public-domain ENABLE 2K word list. Its version, word count and source are documented in the dictionary manifest, with the original license notice available separately. We normalize entries to uppercase A–Z words and remove duplicates.

The list is independent of poople.io. It may contain unfamiliar or dated words, and we have not claimed full compatibility with the official game's dictionary. A route found here is a supported-list result, not a verified official daily answer. For the checked daily record, use today's answer; for less help, use the daily hints.

If the solver cannot produce a route

An unsupported word means your entry is missing from this dictionary. It does not prove the word is misspelled or rejected by the original game. A supported word with no route means the current dictionary has no chain connecting it to POOP.

A loading or calculation error is different from either of those results. If the dictionary fails to load, retry with a working connection. Do not interpret a technical error as proof that your puzzle has no solution.

Calculations run in your browser. Your input and route are not uploaded or automatically saved. Optional analytics record general actions only after consent and do not include the word you entered. See the privacy policy. If a result contains an invalid step, report the word pair and dictionary version so we can investigate.
